Lueder, Larkin & Hunter Expands Community Association Insurance Defense Practice and Launches Mediation Services
Expanded litigation capabilities. Dedicated insurance defense. New mediation services.
Lueder, Larkin & Hunter, LLC is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its litigation practice with the addition of Joanna Eljazzar as a Partner, the expansion of the firm’s Community Association Insurance Defense practice, and the launch of a new Mediation practice.
The firm’s Community Association Insurance Defense group is managed by Jennifer Lewis Lueder, a Partner with more than twenty years of litigation experience and an extensive background in insurance defense, community association law, and complex civil litigation.
Joanna joins LLH with more than a decade of litigation experience, including substantial experience in community association insurance defense. During her prior practice, she worked closely with insurance carriers, adjusters, community association managers, boards of directors, and other industry professionals in defending claims involving condominium and homeowners associations.
The expansion reflects LLH’s continued investment in serving the community association industry at every stage of a dispute, from day-to-day counseling and covenant enforcement through insurance defense, litigation, trial, and alternative dispute resolution.
Her experience includes matters involving directors and officers liability, breach of fiduciary duty, premises liability, property damage, covenant and architectural disputes, Fair Housing claims, governance disputes, enforcement matters, and other claims arising from the ownership, operation, and management of community associations.
Joanna has also held significant leadership roles during her career, including leading a litigation department and, more recently, a practice focused on hybrid enforcement and collection matters. She brings longstanding relationships with insurance professionals, community association managers, and other members of the community association industry.
The expanded practice gives LLH a five-attorney Community Association Insurance Defense team, combining the firm’s longstanding experience representing community associations with a dedicated group of litigators focused on defending associations, boards, managers, and other insured parties.

Together, the group provides carriers and insureds with experienced representation throughout the life of a claim, from early evaluation and pre-suit resolution through discovery, mediation, dispositive motions, trial, and appeal.
Our attorneys work closely with insurance carriers, claims professionals, community association managers, boards of directors, and insureds to provide prompt evaluations, practical litigation strategies, regular communication, efficient case management, and timely billing.
Community association insurance defense requires more than general litigation experience. These cases often turn on the interpretation of declarations, bylaws, rules, corporate governance requirements, statutory obligations, and the practical realities of operating a condominium or homeowners association. LLH’s longstanding community association practice allows our defense attorneys to approach those issues with an understanding of both the underlying law and the day-to-day operation of community associations.
The group represents condominium associations, homeowners associations, directors and officers, community association managers, management companies, and other insured parties in matters involving:
- Directors and officers liability
- Property Owners’ Bill of Rights Defense
- Breach of fiduciary duty
- Premises liability and personal injury
- Property damage
- Fair Housing and discrimination claims
- Covenant and architectural disputes
- Governance and election disputes
- Alleged failures to maintain or repair
- Alleged failures to enforce governing documents
- Negligence claims
- Other claims arising from the management and operation of community associations
LLH Launches Mediation Practice
Joanna’s addition also allows LLH to expand its dispute resolution capabilities with the launch of a new Mediation practice.
Joanna is a certified mediator and brings more than a decade of litigation experience in New York and Georgia to the mediation process. Her background provides her with a practical understanding of the legal, financial, insurance, and interpersonal considerations that frequently determine whether a dispute can be resolved.
While the firm’s mediation practice has particular strength in community association and insurance-related disputes, Joanna is available to mediate a broad range of civil matters.
Joanna is available for pre-suit, court-ordered, and voluntary mediation, including both in-person and remote proceedings.
Continuing to Grow
The expansion reflects LLH’s continued investment in serving the community association industry at every stage of a dispute, from day-to-day counseling and covenant enforcement through insurance defense, litigation, trial, and alternative dispute resolution.
With Jennifer managing the Community Association Insurance Defense group, Joanna joining the firm as a Partner, and a five-attorney team supporting the practice, LLH is positioned to provide carriers, managers, boards, and community associations with greater litigation capacity while maintaining the practical, industry-focused representation that has long been a hallmark of the firm’s Community Association Law practice.
