Lindsey Nilsen is an Associate practicing in the firm’s Charleston, South Carolina office. Her practice focuses on the defense of employers and insurance carriers against workers’ compensation claims brought by employees under the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act, Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, and Defense Base Act.

Lindsey is originally from Jefferson, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to attending law school, she worked for the Department of Microbiology at the University of Georgia as a laboratory technician, where her research focused on the regulated uptake of L- and D-Aspartate by Acinetobacter baylyi (ADP1), and the potential of harnessing the energy created for biofuels. She is featured as an author on Regulation of I- and d- Aspartate Transport and Metabolism in Acinetobacter baylyi ADP1, published in Applied and Environmental Microbiology Vol.88, No. 15.

She went on to earn her J.D. and graduated from the Charleston School of Law in May 2024 in the top 25% of her class. During law school, she was involved in numerous student groups, including the Maritime Law Society, Survivor Advocate Society, and Business Law Society. She also volunteered at Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services; an organization committed to providing the low-income community in Charleston with access to legal aid. Lindsey was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in November 2024, when she also joined Lueder, Larkin & Hunter.

In her free time, Lindsey can be found cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, playing volleyball and pickleball, reading, or pursuing various artistic endeavors.
