Laya Hage is an associate in the Houston office of Lueder, Larkin & Hunter, where she focuses her practice on Defense Base Act and Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation claims.

Laya began her legal career in 2018 as a bankruptcy paralegal in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked primarily on Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters representing major creditor corporations. In 2020, she relocated to Houston, Texas, to continue her legal career as a legal assistant, focusing on Chapter 11 bankruptcies. In this role, she represented large corporate clients in restructuring proceedings, as well as in employment and labor disputes and construction litigation.

Laya earned her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and her master’s degree from Loyola University New Orleans. She received her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2025. Laya is admitted to practice in Texas and is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the National Arab American Bar Association.

Laya is fluent in Arabic and conversational in French. In her free time, she enjoys traveling internationally with her friends and family, exercising, and playing the piano.
