C. M. Plocica was born in South Bend, Indiana, and eventually moved to Carmel, IN.  C. M. attended the University of Alabama where she majored in Political Science with a minor in English. She was involved in the Student Environmental Transportation Initiative to help the CrimsonRide (the University’s bus system) choose more effective routes for students that were not only convenient, but also environmentally friendly for the community.

C. M. was a member of the Ducks Unlimited Chapter, Student-Athlete Peer Tutoring, and an intern at the Tuscaloosa County Public Defender’s office. It was at the Public Defender’s office that her passion for law and client interactions really developed, working on behalf of members of the community who would have otherwise had no legal representation. It was there she learned how lawyers and corrections professionals can play an avid role in lowering the rate of recidivism for convicted people.

C. M. attended the Charleston School of Law because of her family’s long love of the Palmetto state and its oceanside cities. At Charleston School of Law, C.M. was a research assistant focusing on developing products liability topics and civil procedure for Professor William Janssen. C. M. was also the recipient of a CALI award in Workers Compensation.

In her free time, she enjoys surfing, bike riding, attending concerts, and playing with her husky, Ophelia.
