For inclusion onto these lists, lawyers are nominated by their peers and chosen based on an extensive balloting, research and a blue-ribbon review process.  “Rising Stars” is a listing of exceptional lawyers who are 40 years of age or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less, and have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  No more than 2.5% are named to the Rising Stars list. Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multi-phase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research.  They were evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. The Super Lawyers patented selection process involves three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool; evaluation of candidates by the research department; and peer evaluation by practice area.
