Todd Loftis is a partner in Lueder, Larkin & Hunter’s Charleston, South Carolina office. Mr. Loftis has litigated cases in every county within the state of South Carolina. He has taken cases to verdict in all levels of South Carolina’s state and federal trial courts, and has an extensive background in civil litigation, areas such as personal injury, insurance coverage issues, insurance bad faith, commercial carrier liability, construction defect, premise liability, products liability, governmental liability and professional liability.

Mr. Loftis received his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in American History from Charleston Southern University in 1994. Prior to entering private practice, Todd served as a judicial law clerk in the United States District Court, District of South Carolina for the Honorable Thomas E. Rogers, III, United States Magistrate Judge.

Todd was born in Columbia, South Carolina but spent most of his childhood in Barnwell, South Carolina. In 1998 he married his wife Michele and in 2011 they were blessed with the addition of their son, Jackson. Todd is a lifelong fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and enjoys attending a variety of U.S.C. athletic events.

Loftis Obtains Defense Verdict for National Client - Todd Loftis had a defense verdict returned by an Horry County Jury after a four day Trial that involved the Plaintiffs claiming that the Client’s negligence caused a residential fire during the installation of a satellite system. Plaintiffs asserted real property damages in the amount of $380,000 and an additional $370,000 in loss of personal property. The Jury found that there was no Negligence on the part of the Client and awarded the Plaintiffs no damages.

Loftis gets Federal Lawsuit Dismissed – Todd Loftis was retained to defend a Client against a Fraud action filed by a Franchisee. Todd was able to get the action Dismissed at the Pleadings stage under the terms of the Franchise Agreement.
