Her practice primarily focuses on workers’ compensation and subrogation claims, and she also handles general liability and insurance coverage matters throughout Georgia and South Carolina. Ms. Payne represents a variety of employers, both self-insured and those with insurance carriers, group associations and third-party administrators. She has handled numerous cases in front of Administrative Law Judges, the Appellate Division, state courts, superior courts and the Court of Appeals in Georgia. Additionally, she has handled numerous claims before South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commissioners, the Full Commission, circuit and state courts throughout South Carolina. After receiving her J.D. from the Emory University School of Law in 2006, where she received the Alternative Dispute Resolution Achievement Award, Ms. Payne joined an Atlanta based insurance defense firm. She practiced in Atlanta for over four years before relocating to her prior firm’s South Carolina office in 2011. She joined Lueder, Larkin & Hunter to start our South Carolina office and lead the South Carolina and Georgia Workers’ Compensation practice. Ms. Payne has presented seminars to employer and insurers throughout the Southeast on a wide array of topics ranging from management of psychological injuries, common claim defenses to Medicare Set-Asides.
